KSF 940

The high capacity, two stage, blower discharges snow 30 feet to either side.

The 4-season plow can be used for ballast or snow with bolt on snow curls.

Engineered for extreme weather conditions, the KSF 940 is at home in the coldest weather .

Equipped with a 24,000 BTU A/C unit, it keeps the perator coll on the hottest days while profiling ballast or cutting brush.

Machine Description

The KSF 940 is a severe weather machine based off the KBR 925. The 940 sports a 50K lb. working weight, a larger cab for a second operator’s seat, special cold weather heaters, and specially designed wings, plow, and broom built specifically for snow fighting in the harshest environments. The large curl kits allow for plowing through the deepest of snow. The wings push snow 16 feet from the track center, and the snow switch cleaner can blow snow over 20 feet. In warm weather conditions the snow fighter may be converted to a ballast regulator and/or a brush cutter.

Power Unit:
260hp Cummins tier III engine, Espar diesel fired engine block heater (with Artic Fox hydraulic tank heater) comes standard. Dual 8-D batteries offer plenty of cranking power for cold weather starts. Danfoss hydraulic valves, hydrostatic pump for propel, 6 speed powershift, 4 wheel drive, clasp brakes, truch style axles, turntable also come standard.
The KSF 940 cab has unique window placement for unsurpassed operator visibility. Tilt feature provides access to major components. Side mounted heater and A/C provide a clean roof line, with no maintenance components on roof. Pressurized cab has improved headroom and standard joystick controls. A second operator’s seat is optional.
Broom motor and auger motor are series driven with individual drives. High capacity two-stage blower discharges snow 30 feet to either side. For ballast work, the auger and blower assembly are replaced with the ballast deflector. Reversing valve for broom is standard.
The 4-season plow has a heavy structural frame and can be used for snow or ballast. Bolt-on curls allow conversion for snow removal. Axe handle elements at rail cutouts mean less material left at the rail.
Tall, high capacity snow wings clear snow to a distance of 16 feet from track center. The standard ballast wings are 36” wide with hydraulically controlled template doors. Articulated template doors and variable width wings are optional.
